About the Board of Directors and Powers
- The Board of Directors holds the responsibility of overseeing and managing the Bank and its activities. The Board of Directors is made up of eleven members from the Board of Governors. Seven members are permanent and four are non-permanent. The seven representatives of Member Countries on the Board of Governors with the highest capital subscription in the Bank have permanent seats on the Board of Directors. Other Member Countries, based on their voting power, elect the other four non-permanent members of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is vested with the necessary powers to manage the Bank, except those exclusively vested in the Board of Governors. The Board of Directors possesses the following powers, among others, to:
- Prepare the meetings of the Board of Governors and the documents submitted to it, including an annual report on the Bank’s activities
- Establish branches, subsidiaries and offices of the Bank as may be necessary for the running of its business. The nine members of the Board with the largest shareholdings in the Bank’s capital are permanent. The other members of the Bank select, according to their voting power on the Board of Governors, the two non-permanent members of the Board of Executive Directors
- Determine the general policy of the Bank and to monitor its implementation in accordance with the provisions of this agreement and the directives of the Board of Governors
- Establish rules and procedures and make necessary arrangements for the effective functioning of the Bank, taking into account expenditure savings and work efficiency

Establish a programme for the operations of the Bank, which will define its scope and rules
The term of office of the Executive Directors is four years, renewable. Executive Directors shall remain in office until their successors take up their duties.

H.E. Dr. Fahad Aldossari, Ph.D.
H.E. Dr. Fahad Aldossari is an eminent economist and researcher and the President of the General Authority for Statistics. With an impressive track record of nearly 25 years at the service of SAMA, he has held several strategic positions including Deputy Governor for Research and International Affairs, Director General of Research and Statistics Department, Director of Economic Research Department and International Affairs and Deputy Governor for Administration.
H.E. Dr. Aldossari is also highly involved in the Board of Directors of several organizations in Saudi Arabia and international entities. He is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Financial Academy, Chairman of the Nomination and Compensation Committee, member of the Professional Competencies and Certifications Committee, Board Member of the Social Development Bank and Chairman of its Audit Committee, and Board Member of the Agricultural Development Fund.
H.E. Dr. Fahad Aldossari earned his Ph.D. in Economics in 2008 from the prestigious British University of Leeds.
